In
the article entitle “Winning actually isn’t the only thing,” author David
Maraniss contemplates the importance of winning in sports. His emotion for the
article comes after seeing the infamous NFL game between the Green Bay Packers
and the Seattle Seahawks. Maraniss, a Packers fan, along with countless other
NFL fans were in disbelief after seeing the call made by the “Replacement
Referees” at the end of the game. He expresses his anger over the call, saying
he couldn’t sleep and didn’t get over it for about 12 hours. After that time he
realized it was just a football game and that winning isn’t the only thing, but
he did say that his anger shifted to Seahawks head coach, Pete Carroll and
Seahawks quarterback, Russell Wilson.
